Donald Trump says ‘I am a war hero’ alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu

 Donald Trump has said that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a war hero, adding ‘and so am I.’

Mr Trump, who never fought in an armed conflict, said that he was a war hero for approving airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities — adding that his contemporary inc Netanyahu is a war hero ‘because we worked together.’

‘He’s a war hero. I guess I am too,’ Mr Trump told conservative radio host Mark Levin. ‘Nobody cares. But I am too. I mean, I sent those planes.’

An International Criminal Court warrant for Netanyahu’s arrest was issued last November for alleged war crimes in Gaza as a result of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, where approximately 60,000 Palestinians were killed and 1,200 Israelis died in the October 7 attacks.

The USA never signed the arrest warrant, so Netanyahu was able to visit Mr Trump earlier this year at the White House.

DONALD TRUMP’S MILITARY HISTORY

After going to military school as a teenager, Mr Trump avoided the draft to fight in Vietnam, receiving a deferment to fight in the war five times — four times for college, and a medical exemption he received for bone spurs when he was 22.

In 2015, he mocked former Presidential candidate John McCain, who was a POW during the Vietnam war, saying that Mr McCain was ‘not a war hero’ because ‘I like people who are not captured.’

The Atlantic also previously reported that Mr Trump disparaged dead service members, calling them ‘losers’ and ‘suckers’. Mr Trump vehemently denied these claims.

Elsewhere, Mr Trump previously met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss potential peace talks in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with Mr Zelenskyy remembering the dress code this time around following a tense exchange in his previous meeting with Mr Trump and JD Vance.

Host of Real America’s Voice, Brian Glenn (who is dating congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene) had queried Zelensky’s attire back in February, and apologised for the ‘jibe’ in his most recent visit.

Glenn remarked: ‘First of all, President Zelensky, you look fabulous in that suit,’ with Trump quickly adding to the Ukrainian President: ‘I said the same thing. Remember? That’s the one that attacked you last time. See? Now he’s a nice guy.’

‘I remember,’ Zelensky replied, to which Glenn added: ‘I apologise to you. You look wonderful.’

However, Zelensky was ready for him and had the Oval Office in hysterics when he noticed that Glenn was wearing the same outfit as in February, remarking: ‘But you are in the same suit. You see, I changed, you are not’
